Wow... no big mystery here. no updates for a whole month and a half. Blame that Shannon girl - she makes a good Scapegoat if you're lookin' for one.

Quick update:
Fish are still kicking - no deaths among them
Shrimp? Of the four, the two larger ones remain. They've been molting nicely leaving dummy carcasses scattered at the bottom of the tank. The two smaller shrimp... Let's just say I learned my lesson in putting the fish on a strict diet.

It's still spring - although it appears to be more of days in early April than May for the past few weeks. I'm still waiting for that instant summer button to be depressed. but for now, 59, rainy and just generally crappy is what we get.

I discovered I have a family of fox living at the end of the drive (which is on a cul du sac - if my spelling is off, send me a note and chalk one up against me). There are four kits and a mommy. The kits are adorable, although they apparently like to play with the food mommy brings then. The chow shows up typically already 'dead', but it makes for some great tug of war battles. I figure this is the Xbox for the fox.

As for other apsects of life... let's just say I have my hands full. some day, I'll have to share some of the wonderful lessons I've learned in the past 6 months. Amazing what a few simple, strategically-organized words can do for you. ...

I've been looking forward to two things for the past few months. I'd love to share the plans, but as I said in the previous paragraph, I have my hands full. So... we'll just say, yay for May! and be done with it.

This product should be advertised better. Anyone here ever hear of a "neti pot"? I'm thinking the inventor should get at least the take home version of Jeopardy for this thing. So check out Neti Pot Here or There.

When you've had your fill of that, go check this out. Just don't let them fool you on the "quality" of the pot.

I saw one person's comment like it was shooting wasabi or something like that. Personally, it feels like jumping into a heavily-chlorinated, salt water pool and taking a big drag through your nose, but not swallowing.

Ahh the lasting effects of that "secret mixture". $15.00 later and you have a good shot at either wishing you hadn't done that, or breathing through both nostrils. Take your pick. Either way, you're set for a good time.

Damned Fish

So I come home from work and two of my new plants are floating like mob informants in the East river. Not happy. Apparently Daryll and Daryll love to spaz when they get spooked. In the process, they tear up the landscape and the plants go afloatin. Anyone need some good bait? These guys are pretty good size for bass or something bigger.

Okay. So it was 72 and sunny (with a load of wind) at 3:00pm today. Now it's a bit cooler and windier than a bag of rearends. Great. Just great...

oh well. So off to another day.

I need to get me a fishing license.

Well the fish are living it up. Up to four shrimp now. If anyone has any creative names for my four shrimp, it would be nice to hear some suggestions (please... "dinner" just won't do).

I've got 12 fish in the tank. They are:
Ma, Pa [Cherry Barbs]
Darryl, Darryl (Siamese Algae Eaters)
The Kids (Tiger Barbs; 2 of them)
Pleco (Pitbull Plecostomus)
Larry, Curly (Spotted Cory Cats - Mo passed away back in September from a nasty flesh-eating organism)
X, Y and Z (Blood Fin Tetras) - Any names for these will also yield you a "thanks"

Now if I can just figure out how to get the PH back down to 7.0.....

Don't ya just love the weather in the spring? Darn shame it's a 20 degree temperature difference if you drive up to Chicago - all 169 miles of it. Today's a rainy kinda day, but it's staying warm for a bit. Of course, it will cool off by tomorrow (chance of snow on Saturday - are you kidding me?).

Thought of the day: Sorry... drawin' a blank.
